This review is from: Frozen in Time
5.0 out of 5 starsThis is Weaver’s second novel, and the second in what is envisioned to be a series of three novels. At the end of the first novel “Time and Again,” the reader is left wondering how all this strange time travel is taking place, and what is behind it. That question is at least partially answered in “Frozen in Time.” Much of the story takes place in Antarctica, and involves a terrorist scheme to cause environment havoc. But there are plots withing plots going on, and the reader is well advised to pay close attention to the motives and behaviors of each of the bad guys to follow the tale. I particularly enjoyed the secondary plot, which involves the characters back home in their “normal” lives. Overall, an interesting and well crafted story.

5.0 out of 5 stars intriguing story, 6 Jan 2012

I really enjoyed the storyline and especially the extension at the end when you think the story must have finished – he has added an extra dimension to the story. Fab!

5.0 out of 5 stars5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of twists and turns, November 7, 2011 By: Thomas D. Spears “Sprinklerboss” (Omaha, NE USA) – See all my reviews
This review is from: Time and Again (Kindle Edition)

I enjoy a story that is unpredictable, one that doesn’t telegraph every turn of the plot so thoroughly in advance that the story is obvious before it unfolds.

Time and Again certainly provided many surprises. From the moment the main character floats back in time to 1942, you think you know where this story is headed, but you don’t.

Time and Again is a well written exploration of modern and WWII military operations. The author, with many years in the RAF, certainly demonstrates his knowledge down to the details. I enjoyed the gritty realism of the opening helicopter crash, as well as other action sequences in the book. The heros and heroines are likable, the villains are generally despicable– all in keeping with the genre.

This book is a great read if you enjoy military action, thrillers, mysteries or time travel novels.

This review is from: Frozen in Time (Kindle Edition)

An excellent well written short story that followed on from the first book. Our hero jumps from escapade to escapade leaving the reader with little time to try to work out what is forthcoming. The scene has now been set for the last book in this series.

This review is from: Frozen in Time (Kindle Edition)

This is a great sequel following Time and Again, although it is a stand alone storyline, the plot is certainly believable, and it is nice to see a military policeman in a good light! That was my favorite part of the book. The story ends on a cliffhanger, and I look forward to the next book. Any fan of mystery or thriller will enjoy this book, well written with great characters, the author has managed to use his experience in the military, combined with imagination, to provide a great story, and I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars a ripping good yarn, 21 April 2011 by Martin
A review of Frozen in Time kindle edition

I enjoyed Ian’s first book, with its unusual story lines and aspects. I enjoyed this book as much if not more. Ian’s writing style is fast, fluid and keep’s you on the edge of your seat and I could not put this book down. I appreciate the use of his miliatary experiences which bring to life details and aspects of operations which we civvies never get the opportunity to experience and it brings the professionalism of modern day service personnel to the fore. This book shows maturity fast developing in a writer that I look forward to reading again on the publication of his next book.

A review of Time and Again, Kindle edition

4.0 out of 5 stars  Well done!, December 15, 2010

I will be going to work tomorrow on very little sleep as I stayed up much too late finishing “Time and Again.”

It’s the great story of a World War II American fighter pilot and a modern day Royal Navy helicopter pilot — and the bond they share despite the decades that separate them.

I won’t try to recap everything here, but I can say, without a doubt, that this story is full of twists and turns that will keep you reading until the very end. Then you’ll be looking forward to the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Read, 30 Oct 2010
This review is from: Time and Again (Kindle Edition)

I found this a really excellent read and would like to congratulate the author.
I also found it thought provoking, and it did make me wonder if time travel is possible.
As with another reviewer I won’t discuss the story as it would give the story-line away. You will have to read it. I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

I usually enjoy time travel books – and this one is excellent! The time periods – now and 1942 – are seamlessly interwoven and there are plenty of surprises along the way. I won’t talk about the story as I don’t want to spoil any intending readers’ enjoyment, I’ll just say that I spent way too much time reading this book when I should have been doing other things, like sleeping!

The book is very well written and it’s hard to believe this is the author’s first novel.

Now I’m just going to have to try and wait patiently for the next book in the series – according to the author’s website the book is with the publisher so I hope it is published very soon – and in a Kindle edition of course:)

07 October 2010 - Mel – an Amazon reader.

Ian, still reading Time and Again, off work tomorrow so may get to finish it, I love it so far, not sure how the story will go, although I have my own idea! of how, if I am on track, you have opened a whole new sphere of novel writing! Whichever way it goes, you have a spot on book! hey in one of your future novels, any chance you can include RNH Plymouth (Stonehouse)

12 October 2010 – Mel Continues

Ian, wow, I loved it. I did not guess the ending lol, I was thinking of the phenomenon that affects ITU patients, strange bizzare dreams! I did get the wedding guest though : ))
I equally enjoyed both aspects of the book, and thought both stories blended well, I had no problems switching between. The characters were great, even the minor ones, as for Frank, great outcome lol. I actually held my breath, during the defib episode. I also cried at the wedding-the crowds at the airfield, oh and giving the Dr the painting.

This book is a fantastic read, I do not really want to discuss the plots, as that would spoil it, I am looking forward to the sequel.

I received my copy of Time and Again from Amazon today, and I have read the first two chapters. In what I have read, the story has held my attention. I find it to have a good fast interesting pace, without any unnecessary diversions to the forward movement of the plot.

Not a review, although buy this book, its great, I loved it, full of action, suspense, anyone military will love it, non military will love it for the story, this is one great book! it is original in the story it tells, these days we should value are armed forces, there are no politics involved in this story, but, it does give an insight as to how are current forces, care! Read the back history to the Author, this is written by a real pilot, who crashed and lived! he has an awesome family, his wife, I suspect, is his inspiration. I dont write this because he is my best mate, I state what I have said as he takes time to reply to emails, and he does not know me! Read the book! and I guarantee, you will love it!

p.s Ian, need to fix my email! cant reply! can read thats all lol, ps, next book when?

I knew Ian from school days and was shocked by how close he came to death in the accident. It was a joy to find we live close to each other and that he now writes in a genre that I greatly enjoy. Congratulations Ian on an excellent first novel and I look forward to reading the sequels.
