TONY ‘HARRY’ HARRISON
Harry is the main character of the trilogy. He is a naval Officer, flying as an Observer in Seaking helicopters at RNAS Culdrose, Helston, Cornwall. He is a lovable rogue with an eye for adventure and danger. At 6 feet 2 inches with a square jaw, classical good looks and piercing grey eyes he is a target for women where ever his adventures take him, but he is devoted to his lady, Laura, and will take on all comers to preserve her safety. Men can’t fail to like him and he will even harvest respect amongst his enemies, but God help those that decide to cross him. As a reader you will be rooting for him the whole way, but can he overcome adversary to save both his friends, and indeed … the world?
LAURA
Laura is Harry’s girlfriend and must endure diversity at every level if she is to retain her sanity and hold onto the man she loves. She doesn’t know it, but she is truly beautiful with deep brown eyes set in a sculptured face that would grace the pages of any fashionable photographer’s portfolio. When she is pitched into danger however, she is resourceful and resilient; an asset to those around her whenever the need arises. Reading the above one may see her as ‘hard’, yet she is patient and shows devotion beyond the realms of human comprehension and as you read the novels you can’t help but have a growing empathy with her.
BRAD
Lieutenant Charles Bradshaw is a World War Two flying ace operating from carriers in the Pacific war, but not for long. He finds himself embroiled in Harry’s private war and seems to be trustworthy, but will he be able to hold onto his sanity as his life is thrown into turmoil. Only time will tell.
LUCY
A pretty young woman who is orphaned by the events of WW2. She could be described as a waif and stray, yet she is remarkably resilient despite the horrors of war that are all around her. The men that she comes into contact with can’t help but be attracted to her but can she shake off the effects of her personal trauma to find a relationship with any of them, and will loyalties be tested if she does?
MIKE PHILLIPS
Mike is Harry’s doctor who specialises in long term patient care. A middle aged man with a friendly face and sparkling blue eyes he demonstrates nerves of steel when the occasion calls for it. He heads up Bolitho’s clinic in Truro, Cornwall, and he and his team will have to show determination in tall measures in order to help Harry and Laura on their quest. But he is more than just a doctor; he is a good friend to both Harry and Laura, and time and again he will prove to be a steadying figure as the trilogy unfolds.
FRANK
Frank is seemingly an ally to Harry and his companions, but can he be trusted? He appears to trust no-one and keeps himself much to himself. A thin weaselly American civilian who seems out of place on a deserted island in the Pacific war, Harry must work hard against the grain to gain his trust, but as the scenario unfolds he will become all Harry has to rely on. Will he live up to Harry’s expectations?
